Ford Is Dumb - No Fiesta For The US
The new Ford Fiesta seems like the perfect car for the environmentally friendly movement. It is an agile small car that can fit up to 5 people and can get over 60 miles per gallon. It seems like the perfect car the only negative thing is, it’s not sold in the US.
The Fiesta has what it take to compete with other fuel efficient cars in the US, too bad Ford will only sell it across the pond. Ford says that the Fiesta would be too pricey to import to the US.
The American population has adverse thoughts on diesel, this is why Ford is not bringing the car to the US. We ger stateside still have the view that diesels are gross polluters according to Ford.
Diesel cars that are on the market today emit less pollution and get better fuel economy that regular gas powered cars. Ford has a car that gets over 60 miles per gallon, yet they won't bring it to the US? It is Ford's belief that North America will not buy a diesel car. For some reason Ford thinks that the Fiesta would not be very viable here state-side even though it does well when compared to European diesels.
In addition, the Fiesta is made in Britain and importing the car to the US would cost too much money without a profit and Ford doesn’t believe they can charge enough to make any money.Will the American Public urge car makers to make diesel cars for us to buy?Is Ford aware that Volkswagen has a hugely popular diesel car in the Jetta TDi.The Volkswagen Jetta has the same price as the Fiesta, gets far worse fuel economy, and has been called the green car of the year.Volkswagen is loving the fact that there is not other diesel passenger car to compete with.
