Loading Riding Ok ower on a 4x4?
Ok, I have a Ram 1500 4x4 and am having troubles loading my yard machine 42" mower on it. I started out with regular 2x6 lumber with the ramp attachments and it was bottoming out at the tailgate. So I went and purchased a set of ramps at the Tractor Supply Co. (Item number 1035016) which are arched. Well either my pickup is to high or the ramps are not arched enough because the are still bottoming out at the same point. Any suggestions on another type of ramp, or maybe a "special" loading procedure would be appreciated. I am only able to load on a flat surface so getting the pickup truck to a lower area is not an option unfortunately. Thank you in advance!
I'd like to keep the cost down and not get into all that if possible, but good idea.
Havn't even thought of the tailgate approach. I'll try around with that in the morning. I'll also try playing around with the pitch of the pickup too. Thank you!
Answer:
Could be time to buy a small tow behind trailer that has a built in ramp.
